Arizona shipment

Received a shipment from Arizona today.  Unfortunately, it's too late in the season for most of the cool critters I wanted to stock up on, such as Jerusalem crickets, Olios huntsmen, western black widows and those huge Lord of the Rings size wolf spiders.  So this is a rather small package, and about half is for my personal collection.

Tohono Vinegaroon
Mastigoproctus tohono

The Arizona variety of vinegaroons that I usually get.

Blue Death Feigning Beetles
Asbolus verrucosus

Coolest little beetles you'll ever see.  Disturb them and they play dead in a dramatic fashion.

Oklahoma Brown Tarantula
Aphonopelma hentzi

My supplier only had two left.  Bigger than slings but still pretty small.  About 1".

Madrean Red Rump Tarantula
Aphonopelma vorhiesi

A new addition for my collection.  My sucky iPhone camera didn't pick up the deep red of her abdomen.  Beautiful smaller Aphonopelma but not a dwarf.
Speaking of dwarves...

Paloma Dwarf Tarantula
Aphonopelma paloma

Yes, that's an adult.  The smallest species of tarantula in the world. Maxes out at about 2 inches.

Madrean Dwarf Tarantula
Aphonopelma cf madera

An undescribed Aphonopelma dwarf from the Madera Sky Islands.

Arizona Rock Scorpion
Smeringurus vachonii vachonii

Darker cousin to the dune scorpion.

Florida shipment

I really have to post more than once a year...

Shipment from Florida arrived yesterday.

Regal Jumping Spider
Phidippus regius

The spider that everyone wants!  Looks like a male heavy, so I might have to sell them in pairs only.

Florida Vinegaroon
Mastigoproctus floridana

The Florida variety of one of the coolest invertebrate on the planet. What's the difference between these goons and the ones from southwest?  They're from Florida!

And surprisingly, those are the only two Florida species I received from the Florida shipment.
The others...

Arizona Blonde Tarantula "New River"
Aphonopelma chalcodes

The "New River" variety of the ever popular Arizona Blondes.

Rio Grand Gold Tarantula
Aphonopelma moderatum

One of the most desirable US Aphonopelmas.  They are absolute beauties.  And every bit as docile and easy to keep as the Arizona Blondes.

Emperor Scorpion
Pandinus imperator

These are TRUE emperor scorpions.  Many of what are being sold as emperors are not.

Striped Knee Tarantula
Aphonopelma seemanii

Don't know why I picked this one up.  My wholesaler only had one and claimed it's female.  Probably going to keep her for myself.
